Admire New Rotonde de Cartier 42 mm Panther Watch

Cartier is pleased to unveil its new Rotonde de Cartier 42 mm Panther watch. The novelty demonstrates a unique goldsmith’s technique - granulation. The highly sophisticated artistic craft was born in the first half of the 3rd millennium B.C. Passed down the ages, it was greatly developed during the first millennium in Etruria, having given birth to the signature objects in Etruscan granulation.

Cartier wanted to reinterpret the ancient technique cherishing the idea of breathing new life into rare and even forgotten crafts.

The craftsmen who apply the granulation technique create small balls from threads of gold. They cut the tiny gold balls and heat them over a flame.
